蘭
Ran (Orchid) is a series of works developed around fragility, care, and the passage of time.
Only one flower left after the long winter—still breathing.
This image becomes a point of departure for the series, reflecting a state of quiet persistence and attention. The work is not concerned with depicting the orchid itself, but with approaching the feeling that surrounds it — the act of waiting, observing, and holding.
Using washi paper, mineral pigments, ink, and nikawa, the forms are reduced and restrained. Shapes emerge slowly through gesture, often incomplete, balancing between presence and disappearance.
The series reflects an ongoing process of learning — how to care, how to wait, and how to allow something to return.
